When and how will Spencer Dutton and Alex get to Montana?
Spencer Dutton’s journey back to Montana starts in Mombasa and hits a snag during “1923” Season 1 finale as Spencer is removed from a ship and separated from his wife after a duel with Alex’s former fiancé. The two lovers are trying to find their way back to each other as Spencer tries to get back to Montana and the ranch.
‘1923’ Season 2 is ‘really the second half of the season’
Season 1 wrapped up with a lot left to be answered. In a December 2022 interview with Deadline, co-creator Taylor Sheridan said Season 2 is “really the second half of the season,” adding he had no idea what direction the season would be taking when he first started working on it.
“This one is different than ‘1883’ where I had the whole thing blocked out in my head,” Sheridan told Deadline. “This one, I had no idea what I was going to do. I just went on a journey myself.”
Sheridan said he called the network and told them he needed to “make more episodes to finish this story.”
“I need to do this in two blocks,” Sheridan said he told the network. “An eight-episode block and a second eight-episode block to wrap this up. I can’t wrap it up in two episodes and do the story justice.”
