Texas filmmaker Taylor Sheridan is a known champion of cowboy culture and promoting the Texas Film Industry, but he is also very invested in the country music scene. The Yellowstone creator is hosting his first country music festival at his $264 million Texas ranch in September.
Drayton Farley, Kaitlin Butts and Jackson Dean will perform at the inaugural “Bosque Ranch Live” concert, which will take place from noon to 11 p.m. on Sept. 13 at Sheridan’s ranch in Weatherford, Texas. All three musicians have had their music featured on Sheridan’s shows.

Sheridan has made country music a staple of his enormously popular television shows, which include, of course, Yellowstone, as well as Landman, 1923, and Tulsa King. Country singer Zach Bryan is a notable act who performed on an episode of Yellowstone. “The Sheridan push” has helped promote these musicians’ work, with many experiencing significant increases in streaming numbers after appearing on one of his shows.
“My career is built on the art of storytelling,” Sheridan told Billboard. “And nowhere is the storytelling tradition more alive than in country music. My hope is that Bosque Ranch Live is a space where these stories can come to life and sets the stage for more events like it to come.”
More unique events at Sheridan’s Texas ranch are in the works, according to the ranch’s official website.
“Sheridan plans to elevate operations by hosting reining and cow horse reining events, film and TV shoots, concerts, music festivals, charity events and an on-going unique dining experience,” the Bosque Ranch Website states.

The Sept. 13 show at Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch has a capacity of 500 attendees, making the festival pretty exclusive. Prospective festival-goers can choose from two tiers of tickets.
A $500 ticket gives the ticketholder entry to the event and the grounds, as well as a Bosque Ranch hat. The $1,500 tier levels things up, giving ticketholders something called a Country Campfire experience, allowing visitors to stay the night in their RV with access to the concert. A special dinner on the night of the concert and breakfast on the morning after the show are included in the upper tier, as well as memorabilia and complimentary drinks throughout.
Sheridan owns a reported $600 million worth of ranches in Texas, including the 600-acre Bosque Ranch in Weatherford, which he paid $264 million for in 2013. The ranch is used as his family home and also as a film production and rodeo competition hub.

The filmmaker reportedly charged Paramount Network $50,000 for filming on his ranch, plus an extra $214,979 to transform his ranches into a “cowboy camp” for Yellowstone actors. In 2022, Bosque Ranch partnered with numerous rodeo and ranching organizations to organize horse-cutting events on the Weatherford property. The property has hosted the NCHA Brazos Bash and has served as a filming location for several scenes throughout Yellowstone‘s run and its spin-off 1883.
The writer and former cowboy has also been one of the major advocates for the state of Texas investing more money into the state’s film incentive program. Sheridan took advantage of the last increase in funds in 2023, moving the production of multiple shows, including Landman and his upcoming series The Madison, to his home state.
